The Tri Morave is Serbia’s largest and most diverse wine region, located about 230 km southeast of Belgrade and covering nearly one-third of the country’s vineyard area. Its name comes from the three rivers that define the landscape: the West, South, and Great Morava, which carve through gentle hills and valleys, creating a rich patchwork of microclimates. Vineyards are planted between 200 and 650 meters, with a mild continental climate, long sunny autumns, and protective surrounding mountains. Fertile plains mix with rocky slopes and well-drained soils, offering winemakers a diverse terroir that has shaped centuries of winemaking tradition. Wine has been part of daily life here for centuries, from Roman times to medieval monasteries and bustling 19th-century trade.
