DИB (DIV) Winery • Hisarya, Bulgaria

DIV means wild and untamed, a proper representation of Irina and Vesko’s vineyards and style of winemaking. The project started in 2020 from their mutual love for the region, love for nature, and love for each other. The idea was to blend tradition with fresh ideas. Irina had a background in wine journalism and Veselin had a background in agronomics and a family tradition of winemaking.

The focus of the winery is minimal intervention amber wines aged in Cretan amphoras. The base of every vintage is Rkatsiteli from old vines Veselin inherited from his grandfather. Each year they blend in one or more variety from neighboring Balkan countries: Greece, North Macedonia, Romania, Turkey. The result is rich, savory amber wines with beautiful complexity.
