“That’s the kind of wine we adore and strive to create: macerated, rich, slow maturing, sincere wines with bold flavors, the kind that make taste buds sing and conversations flow. Wine to be shared with kindred spirits, to celebrate together abundant nature and the beauty of a life well-lived.” Bojan Baša

Bojan Baša’s vineyards are on the northern slopes of the Fruška Gora Mountain range, overlooking the Danube River and the vast Pannonian Plain. These slopes of Fruška Gora were once a fault-rock volcanic island in the Pannonian Sea which left behind geologically diverse and mineral-rich soils. Bojan’s vineyards are in the appellation of Sremski Karlovci, Serbia’s most renowned. The vineyards face Southeast, atop a hill shaped liked a horseshoe, with the opening facing the Danube. There is an almost constant breeze rolling off the Pannonian Plain and Danube River, blessing his vineyards with great air circulation, which support the development of healthy grapes. The wines are produced with uncompromising respect for nature, and the vineyards are managed using biodynamic methods to maintain soil health and biodiversity. The soil composition is dominated by limestone and clay.

Bojan Baša is an economist and spent most of his life working in European banking. For many years, Bojan and his wife Jelena were amber wine enthusiasts; their passion was encouraged by their winemaking friends in Italy and Slovenia and later fortified by time spent at vineyards in Georgia. In 2010, they acquired their first plot of land and planted a small vineyard. Today, they have 4.5 hectares. In 2024, Bojan left his job in banking to pursue winemaking full-time. Jelena continues her work as a book and magazine editor in Belgrade. The winery is a family affair; Bojan, Jelena, and their 4 children working together in the vineyards.

All of Bojan Baša’s wines are fermented with wild yeast from the vineyards, undergo maceration, age in barrel for 2-3 years, are bottled without fining, filtration, or suphur, and rest for at least an additional year in the bottle. The results are rich, textured amber wines that are a true reflection of his passion and the unique Serbian terroir.
